A week after a strike at Nokia's Indian factory, the company has signed a three-year pay deal with its staff based in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. The agreement was signed between Nokia India Employees Progressive Union and the management in the presence of Tamil Nadu Labour Minister T M Anbarasan and Labour officials.

Its estimated that around 3,500 employees at the Nokia plant would stand to benefit from the new conditions. A company statement said "the long term wage agreement with workers had been resolved. Work will resume with immediate effect"

The company also agreed as a "gesture of goodwill" to reinstate some 50 employees who had been suspended before the strike over claims of misconduct.
